Attendance

We believe that good attendance is key to good learning outcomes.

We do not authorise term time holidays, unless the circumstances are exceptional.. Each case is decided on its own merits, by the Executive Headteacher, without reference to decisions made in relation to other children or families.

As part of our Attendance Policy, we use the flowchart below to identify children whose attendance is a cause for concern or celebration.

In the event that a child’s attendance is a cause for ongoing concern, the letters identified in the flow chart are sent to parents to alert them to the need for an improvement in their child’s attendance.

We also have several ways to celebrate good attendance:

Termly

We hand out certificates to children with 100% attendance that term, in our Friday celebration assembly.

We post the number of children who have achieved the school attendance target that term.

We post the name of the class with the best attendance that term.

Annually…

We give book tokens to all children who achieved 100% attendance.

All of our attendance figures are celebrated on the school website for children and parents to see.
