Foundation Unit

Our Foundation Unit was established in 2005.  It consists of a fully integrated nursery and reception class staffed by specially trained Foundation Stage teachers and support staff.

The children work within the Foundation Stage curriculum at their own pace without the need for major upheavals between the nursery and reception years.

We are very lucky to have 2 large, well resourced classrooms as well as a covered outside area that can be accessed in all weathers.  We also have a large garden that is available to the children throughout the day and offers opportunities for nature investigations, digging, sand and water play, growing herbs, vegetables and flowers, imaginative play and more!

At our last inspection OFSTED stated ‘Provision for children in the Foundation Stage is excellent and means that they get off to an exceptionally good start in their schooling.’
