Symptoms of Covid-19

• A high temperature;

• A new and continuous / persistent cough;

• Loss or change in smell or taste.

• If your child has any symptoms of COVID, a lateral flow test is ineffective & therefore not valid, this means that if your child becomes unwell with any symptoms of COVID, or has any form of continuous cough in school, you will be asked to collect your child and complete a FULL PCR TEST.
• If the PCR test is negative we can then allow your child back into school, as we have now clarified to the best of our ability that this instance of illness/couching is not COVID related (these tests are now pretty quick and we often see as little as 24hr turnaround).
• Should they develop a new cough or further symptoms at a later date, the whole process will begin again.

To Clarify……

• Lateral Flow Tests or Rapid Antigen Tests are only to allow people who do not display any symptoms of COVID know if they may be carrying it and NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH SYMPTOMS.
• PCR Tests are an actual test for people with symptoms to give a more accurate indication of COVID.
